One of the most annoying sounds in the world has to be the busy signal you get when you call and someone is on the other line. Take a moment to hear that sound in your head. You’re welcome to scream now.
What about when you call out to God? Do you get that same annoyance? God is never too busy for you to call on him. “Call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me” (Psalm 50:15). He promises to deliver us.
When we start with a phone provider, we often get locked into a contract and there are hidden fees, etc. With God there are no hidden fees and our contract is signed in the blood of his Son. No strings attached.
So today when you’re reaching for your phone, call on God. Call on him and thank him for today’s blessings. Thank him for the troubles too, as crazy as that sounds. God has a plan for those too, and they will work out for your good.
A popular cell phone ad campaign had a guy showing up in places all over the world saying, “Can you hear me now?” The claim was that you could go anywhere and this network was reliable.
With God, when you ask, “Can you hear me now?” The answer is always yes.
