A shout-out to “unslothy” women

The closest my wife gets to sloth is holding one. On a recent vacation, our family visited a sloth habitat in Honduras where my bride held on to God’s coolest creation, the sloth. You need to YouTube some sloth videos today (I’m sure your boss won’t mind). If you don’t smile, you officially don’t have a soul! In Spanish, sloths are called perezosos, which literally means, “lazy ones.”

I thought of my wife’s character as she held that creature. She is the opposite of a lazy woman. Unlike a sloth, she doesn’t sleep 20+ hours each day. She is up before the sun to work out, read her Bible, and plan her day. She does a thousand and ten things for our family to keep us running on all cylinders. My Kim is quiet and reserved, but she fears the Lord. And, as the proverb puts it, “A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised” (Proverbs 31:30).

Do you know any hardworking women? Quiet or outspoken, introvert or life of the party, has God given you a mother, sister, daughter, or sister in the faith who is worthy of praise? Has Jesus blessed you with a woman who reminds you of grace and brings you back to God’s perfect plans for your life?

Let’s thank the Holy Spirit for producing such passion, love, and hard work in the women who make our physical and spiritual lives so much better.
