Can I trust God’s power?

“I trust God, but some things just seem insurmountable even for God.” You have probably never said it out loud, but we have all thought it. The evidence is that we doubt and worry. But does it even make sense to worry? God is the One who made everything, and he is in control of everything. So what are we really worried about? I suppose we are worried not so much that God doesn’t have the power but that he doesn’t love us enough to use that power for us. Look at the cross and see God’s love for you. The One who invested his own blood in your salvation is not going to withhold his power from you!

Do you remember Gideon? Unsure Gideon needed assurance after assurance. God told a trembling Gideon, “With the three hundred men … I will save you and give the Midianites into your hands” (Judges 7:7). Someone once said that “with a penny I can do nothing, but with God and a penny there is nothing I cannot do.” How do you think Gideon felt in the book of Judges with an army of 300 going up against an army of 450,000? That 300 must have felt like he had a penny, but he trusted God’s power. And you can too. Just look at Jesus’ love for you on the cross for the proof that there is nothing he is not willing to do for you! You can trust God’s power!
