God is like my wife. (Honey, if you’re reading this, there has to be a billion brownie points for that line, right?) 

My wife, Kim, is one of the most responsible people you’ll ever meet. In fact, on the StrengthsFinder personality test, one of her top strengths is Responsibility. So if Kim says she’ll do something, she’ll do it. She doesn’t make flippant promises and then forget about them, like I sometimes do. Rather, she writes them down, makes her list, and works her hardest because she feels morally responsible to get them done. 

God is like that. When you cast your anxieties on God, asking him to take care of things you can’t control, he doesn’t forget about them. Never in his eternal existence has God said, “Oh no! I totally forgot about that one!” Instead, he always replies, “I know. I didn’t forget. You haven’t seen what I’m up to just yet, but you will. At just the right time, you’ll see what I’m doing in your life.”

The apostle Paul promised it this way: “The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it” (1 Thessalonians 5:24). He will do it. Not he might do it or he’ll try to do it or he’ll do his best to get to it. He will do it. So whatever you’re worried about, let it go. Throw it onto God’s shoulders and get a good night’s sleep.

If my wife is good at getting things done, just imagine your God!
