Love at any cost

What are you not doing that you know you should? Who are you not helping but know you could? Love at any cost. When God places you into a position to serve, to help, to do, or to give, he expects you to show love without counting the cost. Why does God expect that? Because he can give you even more than you give others.

Esther discovered this truth.

Esther was a Jewish girl whose people had been conquered by the Persian Empire, and yet she amazingly became queen, though she kept her heritage a secret. One day an edict was given for all Jews to be killed. Her uncle alerted Esther to the evil plan and basically said, “Help us, Esther; you’re our only hope!” Esther heard the plea to beg the king for mercy, but she hadn’t seen him for a month. And to approach him without permission was punishable by death.

Esther knew doing what was right could cost her. “I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish” (Esther 4:16). She survived and saved the entire Jewish nation. One person stepping out in trust can make a huge impact on others.

What has God pressed on your heart to do to help someone else? Who knows? What if you are the one God designed for such a time as this to be the bearer of his love and mercy? Don’t count the cost. Be the blessing God intends you to be.
