“If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” (Romans 8:31,32).
When we feel defeated, Lord, give us a victory. When we are overwhelmed by evil around us, Lord, make us strong. When we doubt ourselves and others, Lord, give us confidence. You refused to accept our defeat. You sent Jesus to love us and give his life for us. He overcame death and every problem we face in life. In him we win. Lift us up with promises from your Word. Help us believe we are what you say we are—more than conquerors. Amen.
“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts” (Isaiah 55:6,7).
Like heaven is above the earth, your ways are above our ways. Lord, you see what we miss and do what we can’t imagine. Like rain and snow water the earth, your Word revives our weary souls. Every time we seek you, we find you. Every time we call on your name, you draw near. Every time we ask for your mercy, you pardon us. Help us forsake our wicked ways and evil thoughts. Put your blessing on us so we can go out in joy and into the world at peace. Amen.
