What are the characteristics of people who live with God here on earth and in the world to come? Good question.

If you read the short five verses of Psalm 15 (please, go ahead and read them right now!), you get an answer, a description of a child of God who is beginning to function the way she or he was made by God to function. This isn’t about some sort of checklist to get to heaven. Rather, this list shows how people who belong to God conduct themselves as they grow in grace and live seeking after God. 

But after looking at the list, you may think, “This way of life doesn’t describe how I act on a daily basis. Will I live with God in the end?” 

Be comforted by these words: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). God has us covered in forgiving love. But who, having experienced this love of God, would not desire to work with him? Change is possible in this life. It is possible to grow in grace and godly living and to live unshaken in the Lord.

As we strive to live following the blueprints for living designed for us by God, we taste the joy of living with him, not just in eternity but experiencing fellowship with him right now.
