Ali Hafed was a wealthy man who lived in ancient Persia. When he discovered the extreme value of diamonds, he suddenly wasn’t content. He sold his expansive farmland and traveled the world looking for diamonds. His money ran out, and he never found a single diamond. Broken and depressed, he ended his life.

Meanwhile, the man who bought Ali Hafed’s property saw a twinkle of light in a stream. It was a diamond! He found 10,000,000 carats of diamonds more! Ali Hafed had a literal diamond mine of fortune, but he overlooked the blessings he already had.

You are also blessed, wealthy beyond imagination! Wealth isn’t always measured in bank accounts. The devil convinces Christians to overlook and underappreciate the grandness of the blessings God has poured upon them.

Do you have food in the fridge? You are blessed.

Do you have money saved in a bank? You are blessed.

Do you have a home that safely locks and is climate controlled? You are blessed.

Do you have access to health care? You are blessed.

Do you have the ability to worship Jesus freely? You are blessed.

Do you have your past forgiven and your future in heaven secured? Yes, you do! You are blessed.

Because of these truths, “rejoice always … give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:16,18). What blessings from God have you overlooked? Today, give thanks!
