I know the Planner

By Pastor Nathan Nass

I don’t know the plan. I really struggle with that. I don’t know what’s going to happen next in my life. I don’t know why my plans don’t work out. I don’t know why it’s all happening this way. Do you struggle with that too? Life so often doesn’t make sense at all. I don’t know the plan!

When I complained about that to a friend, he said, “But you know the Planner!” Long ago, God’s people didn’t know the plan either. The Israelites were stuck as exiles in a foreign country. But God gave them this promise: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’” (Jeremiah 29:11).

There is Someone who knows the plan: God does! You might not know the plan, but you know the Planner. He’s the same God who created you and me. The same God who sent his Son, Jesus, to die on a cross for our sins. The same God who’s prepared a home in heaven for everyone who believes in Jesus. God knows the plan. In fact, God has a perfect plan for you and me.

So let’s practice saying this: “I don’t know the plans, but I know the Planner! I don’t know the plans, but I know the Planner!” May you find peace in God and in his plans for you today.
