Just 30 seconds. That’s how much later I checked in for the flight online than all the other passengers reserving their boarding positions on the Southwest Airlines flight. It meant I was group C instead of group A.

Timing is everything. So what timing are you trying to manage right now? Persevering in new habits? Best moment for a career change or critical conversation?

Sometimes we want to speed things up when God is trying to slow them down. Or we want to slow down when God wants us to speed up. Or we worry too much about precise timing when God is good either way and wants us to focus on other things.

So how do you operate more on God’s perfect timing?

“But I trust in you, Lord; I say, ‘You are my God.’ My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me. Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your unfailing love” (Psalm 31:14-16).

Focus less on timing and more on God.

Trust in God helps you better turn the calendar. Relationship with God helps with right decisions. Pursuing God’s peace helps define your punctuality and productivity.

Open to Psalm 31 and complete these statements: I can trust in God completely because (verse 6) ______. I can live with more joy because (verse 7) _______. I can be more free from worry and fear because (verse 8) ______.
